Classical Williamson–Hall plots using the length scale of the d spacing for the Bragg peak width. The data plotted here are from TOF neutron diffraction for nano-Ni at 318 K (upper panel) and 773 K (lower panel), which are derived from the same diffraction data as used for Figs. 8 and 9. The instrument contribution of Δdins is derived from the sample pair of micron-Ni data under ambient conditions. The errors in the uncorrected [\Delta d_{\rm obs}^2 / d^2] are smaller than or comparable to the size of the plotted symbols.
