Schematic representations of the different sample holders available in the NPLIN experimental setups. Sample holders 1–5 correspond to a volume of 2–500 µl, while sample holders 6–10 correspond to a volume of 1–10 ml. Focusing is done through objectives (1, 2, 4, 5) or a lens (6, 9). An unwanted focusing by a factor of 1.53 is due to the cylindrical assay tube in 8 (Matić, 2004). The laser beam, whatever its wavelength, is represented by a blue line. Red arrows indicate the direction of the beam. |
