The `bubbles' observed inside the sample are areas which are Eu-deficient compared with neighboring areas. (a) Both the bulk of the sample material and the Eu-deficient areas are shown. (b) Only the Eu-deficient areas are selected in this reconstruction. The dashed line shows the approximate location of the interface between the original charge and melted/re-solidified parts of the sample. The tomographic data set was measured on the ICON beamline.
