Rocking curves of Si 111 as calculated by BRL (Stepanov & Ulyanenkov, 1994bBB26) when either the parasitic reflections 400 and 311, or the parasitic reflections 040 and 131, are also excited. The incident beam polarization is s (parallel to the crystal surface). The s-polarized component of the intensity diffracted into the 111 reflection is shown in (a); the p-polarized component is shown in (b).
