The important length for the water-rich domains is the universal length λ = 0.27 nm (Parsegian & Zemb, 2011BB40), while the octan-1-ol-rich part is a structured solvent mixture with a three-dimensional dynamic network of hydrogen bonds, created by alcohol groups and water (blue mesh in the orange domains), the mesh size of which is given by the peak position (2π/Qpeak).
