The brightness and colour of the image represent the amplitude and phase of the complex function [see the inset image in (d)]. All the results have been corrected for the absorption and refraction effects. (d) shows the r.m.s. fluctuations of the reconstructed amplitude and phase in the central diffraction plane as a function of the size. The size zero refers to the kinematical diffraction limit.
