The red bars above and below the blue NG indicate the yoke filled with permanent magnets. The middle position is used by the unpolarized NG and the top position, which is in reality vacant, is in this technical drawing occupied by a tentative combination of a polarizing NG and a Drabkin wiggler. The two dark-red blocks in the background are counter weights to reduce the step motor load of the lift.
