The triplets (a, b, c) and (a*, b* and c*) are, for the hexagonal unit cell, the direct and reciprocal basis vectors, respectively. (b) Focus on one of the kinks shown at the top of Fig. 7[link](a). The characteristics of this kink are its terrace [({2\bar 110} )] and its front [({1\bar 2\bar 10} )].
