It was placed on a 3-lens 96-well MRC low-profile crystallization plate and secured by four clamps. (c) The device, seen from another side, as a schematic cross section showing the recesses available on the side. The larger recess can be used via the thumb to hold the plate while lifting the frame; the smaller recesses fit the lever tool to loosen the frame before completely lifting it up. In the close-up view (circle) the groove with the acrylic glass tiles inserted is visible.
