A sketch of the magnetic SANS setup. The momentum transfer vector q corresponds to the difference between the wavevectors of the incident (k0) and scattered (k1) neutrons, i.e. q = k0k1. The magnetic field H0 is applied perpendicular to the incident neutron beam, i.e. [{\bf H}_0 \parallel {\bf e}_z \perp {\bf k}_0]. For small-angle scattering, i.e. [\Psi \ll 1], the component qx of q is smaller than the other two components qy and qz, so that only correlations in the plane perpendicular to the incident neutron beam are probed.
