Phase coexistence of the high-temperature P4/mbm and polar P4bm structures of BNN upon cooling through the ferroelectric transition. The phase coexistence is most prominent for the 00l reflections, since there is a large change in c lattice parameter across the ferroelectric transition. This phase coexistence is indicative of a first-order phase transition.
