Comparison of calculated versus observed intensity. The black curves are scattering from a tau lesion in a thin section of human brain tissue. The blue curve is that calculated for scattering from an ensemble of spheres with number density N(r) ∼ r−a with a = 3.2, rmin = 100 Å and rmax = 500 Å. The leveling off of intensity at low q (<0.01 Å−1) indicates that there are few voids with radii greater than ∼500 Å in the scattering volume.
