The dashed line at 10° is the threshold where we consider the intensity reconstruction a success. Both the background strength and the signal strength are measured in average number of photons per diffraction pattern. (b) Number of EMC reconstructions that failed to reach [\epsilon_{\rm {rot}}\, \lt \ ,10^\circ]. In most cases, reconstructions either failed or succeeded together for a data set, with a small transition region. This shows how remarkably stable EMC is with regard to changes to the random start.
