Higher-resolution reconstructions require a higher signal-to-background ratio at the maximum recovered resolution. To achieve higher-resolution reconstructions we, therefore, need a stronger signal in general, so that there are data at higher momentum transfers, and the signal needs to be even higher still to compensate for the increase in signal requirement at higher resolutions.
