Mass fractions for various trace elements found in the three samples. For Na, Mg, Cl and S, XRF spectra were fitted for each individual pixel. For Sr and Y, each pixel is the the average of four adjacent pixels. Isolines refer to effective sample thicknesses of 0.5 µm (red) and 1 µm (black), see also Fig. 2[link]. Scale bars: 100 µm. The mixing ratio for Mg is replotted from Fig. 2[link], to allow direct comparison on the same scale between all data here.
