The triple-vesicle model for photosynthetic dinoflagellate thylakoid structures. Here ΔρIT, ΔρB, ΔρL and dIT, dB, dL are the SLD contrasts and thicknesses of the IT gap, bilayer and lumen, respectively. These are used in calculating the form factor of the triple-vesicle stack. Adjacent stacks are separated by a distance RD, which is used in the calculation of the structure factor. See the supporting information for details of the calculation of the form factor P(q) shown in equation (3). Coloured ovals in the lipid bilayers represent membrane proteins.
