Reconstructed maps using the Indiv. file To Matrix and Matrix Plot tools for the 〈P2〉 and δ parameters computed from the ODF fit. The minerals smectite/IS (illite/smectite), illite and kaolinite are selected on the basis of the three predefined zones selected in the average plot and applied in batch for every 2D-XRD file. The intensity of each mineral was used as a mask to represent 〈P2〉 and δ, thus preventing the appearance of abnormal values. For the pixels highlighted in the illite 〈P2〉 plot and labeled a, b, c, d and e, the fitting strategy and results are detailed in Figs. SI.11–SI.15, respectively.
