Principles concerning the unique pattern formation mechanism of SK in open nonequilibrium systems of polymer solutions. The pattern formation involves first formation of multi-length-scale, heterogeneous, amorphous dissipative structures, where the ordering into SK is triggered in local regions subjected to a large local stress concentration, followed by a series of the local events as illustrated in (a) to (f) even in the case when the bulk stress is relatively small. The local events (a) to (d) are also summarized in Table 2[link].
