Geometry of GISAXS experiments. A monochromatic X-ray beam with a wavevector [{\bf{k}}_{\rm{i}}] impinges on the sample surface at a grazing-incidence angle [\alpha_{\rm{i}}]. The elastically scattered wavevector [{\bf{k}}_{\rm{f}}] propagates along the exit angle [\alpha_{\rm{f}}] and the azimuthal angle [\theta_{\rm{f}}]. The sample can be rotated around the z-axis by the angle φ.
