Orientations obtained from different martensite variants are distinguished with different colours that are consistent with those of the four variants in Fig. 2[link](a): mauve for variant A, dark blue for variant B, green for variant C and blue for variant D. The non-equivalent austenite orientations obtained from one martensite variant are differentiated by the orientations of the triangular symbols. The clusters of poles in each stereographic projection are further magnified to give a convenient visualization of the positions of the poles.
