Tilting-angle distribution for 10 878 experimental patterns. The angle θ is the tilting angle, defined as the angle between the incident beam direction and the direction that is normal to the cubic face, such as the z axis of the particle (see Fig. 1[link]a). The green curve is the expected distribution, assuming random orientations. The green curve illustrates that the analytical distribution function p(θ) is proportional to sin(θ).
