Predicted four-scale octadecagonal quasicrystal: blue and red shades correspond to negative field values [\phi \,\gtrsim] −0.1615 and positive values [\phi \,\lesssim] 0.6008, respectively. This quasicrystal has ∊ = −0.06. At this ∊, the minimization of the quartic energy in equation (35b)[link] gives [{\tilde \rho}_1] ≃ 0.02960, [{\tilde \rho}_{q_1}] ≃ 0.01234, [{\tilde \rho}_{q_2}] ≃ 0.01243 and [{\tilde \rho}_{q_3}] ≃ 0.01246.
