Rietveld refinement of the β-nitrogen structure to the data collected at 1.641 (1) Å and 38 K, wR_p 8.4%. The poor fit of the [002] peak suggests that, even shortly after the transformation from the α-form, the sample of β-nitrogen shows some strain.
