Two key residues involved in selective ion permeation within the homodimer present in our structure are in dual conformations. (a) In the A polypeptide of our homodimer, Asn68 is present in two conformations, the 2Fo−Fc electron density map contoured at a level of 1σ is shown as a blue mesh. (b) In the B polypeptide of our homodimer, Asp66 is present in two conformations, the 2Fo−Fc electron density map contoured at a level of 1.3σ is shown as a blue mesh.
