X-ray investigation of a cold-worked Mg 48 at.% in alloy

Crystallite sizes and microstrains together with the degree of order have been measured by X-ray diffractometry for cold-worked Mg 48 at.% In. Ordering and increase of crystallite size occur simultaneously at room temperature and the density of antiphase domain boundaries is low. A large increase in the <111> and <202> crystallite sizes compared with that in other lattice directions probably indicates that coherent boundaries remain in the lattice.
