A new film instrument for the exploration of reciprocal space

A new film instrument has been built which permits exploration and undistorted photography of nearly all of reciprocal space with a single mounting of the crystal. To accomplish this both the Buerger precession and the de Jong-Bouman arrangements are combined in the one instrument. The principles, technique for optimum use, and some applications of the instrument are described.
