An inexpensive computer control for an X-ray diffraction laboratory

An inexpensive three-axis computer control for an X-ray diffractometer is described. The software package features an interactive dialogue with the operator, to assure that needed basic information is supplied. The system is sufficiently flexible to be used for powder patterns, diffuse scattering, texture studies, measurements of residual stresses, etc.
