Crystal data for cadmium tartrate pentahydrate, CdC₄H₄O₆.5H₂O

Large crystals of cadmium tartrate pentahydrate, CdC₄H₄O₆. 5H₂O, have been grown by precipitation in a silica-gel medium. The crystals grew as parallelepipeds in the monoclinic class, with a = 6.129, b = 12.314, c = 7.627 Å, β = 116°14′, and space group P2₁. The material is piezoelectric.
