Absolute intensity measurement in neutron powder diffraction

Advantages and possibilities of absolute intensity measurements in neutron powder diffraction are discussed. To study experimental techniques, the scale factors of Ni and NH₄Cl have been determined. The present techniques are found to be accurate enough to encourage further studies in this field.
