Quintets in P1 and related phase relationships: a probabilistic approach

A probabilistic theory is described which is able to estimate in P the signs of the quintet invariants. An investigation is carried out on the use of special quintets in order to estimate one and two-phase seminvariants by means of the complementary-invariants method.
