X-ray measurement of the root-mean-square displacement of the atoms in cadmium single crystals

The root-mean-square displacements u_a and u_c of the cadmium atoms in single crystals in the a and c directions, respectively, were determined by the use of Bragg intensities obtained with Mo Kα radiation. The results [u_a = 0.121 (1), u_c = 0.196 (1) Å] are compared with other X-ray measurements.
