Preparation and X-ray powder diffraction studies of triple orthovanadates having langbeinite structure

Triple orthovanadates M^IBaCr₂(VO₄)₃ (where M^I = Li, Na or Ag) are synthesised by solid-state reaction. These compounds are found to have orthorhombically distorted langbeinite structure. The crystallographic parameters of these compounds for an orthorhombic cell with P2₁2₁2₁ as the space group and containing four formulae per unit cell are reported.
