Correction for detector misalignment in a four-circle diffractometer

The treatment of the angular errors arising in a four-circle diffractometer from the displacement of the detector slit and collimator from the equatorial plane is described. The method affords an accurate means of assessing and correcting the displacement from measured setting angles.
