A New Mixed Oxide with (Bi₁₂O₁₄)_n Columns: PbBi₁₂Mo₅O₃₄

The title compound, lead(II)dodecabismuth(III) pentamolybdenum(VI) oxide, was prepared by solid-state methods. The structure consists of (Bi₁₂O₁₄)⁸ⁿ⁺_n columns surrounded by (MoO₄)^2- tetrahedra. The Pb atoms occupy specific sites between four tetrahedra.
