Dibromotriphenylantimony(V), a Second Polymorph

The title compound, [SbBr₂(C₆H₅)₃], contains discrete trigonal-bipyramidal molecules and is a polymorph of a previously reported structure. The relationship to the previous structure is presented, the main chemical difference being in the Br-Sb-C-C torsion angles. The preferred conformations of various Ph₃EX₂ (E = Group 15 element, X = halogen) molecules are displayed graphically.
