In the title compound, C9H9NO5, an intramolecular hydrogen bond exists between the hydroxyl group and the O atom of the carbonyl group. In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked to form centrosymmetrically related hydrogen-bonded dimers. The dimers are stacked along the a axis with significant π–π interactions.
