The NdIII ion in hexa-μ-chloro-1:2κ2Cl;1:3κ2Cl;1:4κ2Cl-hexachloro- 2κ2Cl,3κ2Cl,4κ2Cl-[1(η6)-toluene]trialuminiumneodymium has a distorted pentagonal bipyramidal geometry. Five Cl atoms form the equatorial plane and the toluene ring and the sixth Cl atom, Cl6, occupy the apical sites. The average Nd—C(η6) and Nd—Cl distances are 2.926 (5) and 2.857 (1) Å, respectively.
