trans-Methyl 2,9-Bis(phenylsulfonyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-4-β-carbolinylideneacetate

The title compound, C₂₆H₂₂N₂O₆S₂, consists of a β-carboline moiety, two phenylsulfonyl groups and one methoxycarbonylmethylene group. The six-membered heterocyclic ring adopts a half-chair conformation. The substituent at the indole N atom is equatorial while that at the second N atom is axial. The methoxy­carbonyl methylene group is approximately coplanar to the β-carboline moiety. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 78.3 (1)°.
