In title molecules, C17H16O5, (I), and C17H13Br3O5, (II), the dihyropyran ring adopts sofa and half-chair conformation, respectively. The heterocyclic ring is distorted from planarity and the phenyl rings form dihedral angles of 72.3 (4)° (I) and 60.5 (3)° (II) with the dihydropyran ring. In both structures, the hydroxyl oxygen involves in O-H...O intramolecular hydrogen bond.
