4'-Methoxyacetophenone 2,4-Dinitrophenylhydrazone at 173K

The title compound, C₁₅H₁₄N₄O₅, appears as an approximately planar molecule and is found to be in the E conformation. An intramolecular hydrogen bond is formed between the NH group and the adjacent nitro group [N1...O121 2.6199 (3) Å and N1-H1...O121 128 (1)°], a feature which is common to this class of compounds.
