4-Hydroxy-6-methoxy-9-phenylsulfonylcarbazol-3-yl Methyl Ketone

The asymmetric unit of the crystals of the title compound, C₂₁H₁₇NO₅S, contains two crystallographically independent molecules, each consisting of a carbazole moiety and a phenylsulfonyl group. The geometry around the sulfur atoms is distorted from that of a regular tetrahedron.
