Computed systematic slope errors and maximum bending stresses as a function of mirror thickness for the SiO₂ and Si mirrors. The slope-error measurements were carried out for a 25 mm-thick SiO₂ mirror. The slope curve of the Si mirror is a minimum at a thickness of 40 mm.
