Stereoscopic drawing of the potassium channel of S. lividans looking along a fourfold symmetry axis (PDB code 1MSL; Chang et al., 1998BB5). A potassium iron on the fourfold axis is surrounded by eight carbonyl groups of the main chain segments, each next to the pore helix.
