Stereoview of a dimeric structure of cytochrome bc complex (PDB code 1BCC; Zhang et al., 1998BB44). Rieske proteins are depicted by heavy purple ribbons and the other subunits by thin green ribbons. A transmembrane α-helix of the Rieske protein interacts tightly with transmembrane helices belonging to one monomer, while the Fe–S domain of the Rieske protein is in close contact with the other monomer.
