The curve marked `Flux' is the photocurrent at a photodiode; the curve marked `NEXAFS' is the integrated signal from the phosphor screen. (b) Image of the surface taken at a photon energy of 101 eV and kinetic energy of 3.7 eV. The dark areas are due to carbon contamination on the surface. The light area to the left was identified in photoemission as a gold-rich area.
