X-ray intensity as a function of the azimuthal χ-angle for the circular and linear (horizontal and vertical) polarization states. The variations are displayed by polar coordinates. Measurements were made in the range −105° to +105°, and the solid line in the portion from 90° to 270° was symmetrically illustrated using the data.
