Vertical and horizontal beam movement at 12 keV over time with the beam-position monitor located at ∼59 m from the source. For clarity, the horizontal beam position has been offset by 40 µm. Periodic (3.7 h) shifts in beam position result from monochromator movement caused by pressure changes during filling of the monochromator liquid-nitrogen storage vessel. Slow vertical and horizontal drifts are believed to be due to changes in the electron orbit during the measuring period.
