The intensity profile of the reflected wave just behind the crystal when the incoming pulse leaves the crystal. The vertical axis would extend to 1, but is truncated to enhance the central region. The horizontal axis is the parameter z′ which runs from 0 to 200 µm, whereas the real coordinate x runs from 25.08 to 25.08 µm. Parameters used for the calculation: diamond 111 reflection, wavelength = 1 Å, crystal thickness T = 100 µm; see text for details.
