Arrhenius plot for the rate of d-spacing increase in L-asparagine monohydrate crystals at [\lambda] = 1.0 Å. Different crystals showed more or less the same slopes but often a different constant k (equation 2[link]). For this figure, the constant k of both crystals was scaled such that all values fell approximately on a single line. The individual slopes were −120 (squares) and −115.5 (diamonds). The slope of the least-squares line shown is −119.4 (10.3).
