The spectra have been scaled so that the absorption coefficient for saline at 6.1 µm is 0.27 µm−1 (Hale & Querry, 1973). Although the protein absorption coefficients are similar at 3.0, 6.1 and 6.45 µm, the protein-to-saline ratios of the absorption coefficients (dots) differ dramatically. |
